4. Luteal Phase (Days 15–28)

After ovulation, the ruptured follicle forms the corpus luteum, which secretes progesterone. This hormone stabilizes the uterine lining in case of pregnancy. If fertilization doesn’t happen, progesterone levels drop, leading to menstruation and the start of a new cycle.
